Versine account limits
Last updated: November 6, 2026
Versine limits how much and how often money can leave an account. The limits keep your money safe if someone else gets into your account, and they’re the same whichever way you pay: in the app, through an assistant, with a scheduled payment or with a link.
Over a limit, nothing moves. Versine refuses the payment and tells you which limit it hit.
1. Account limits
Your limits depend on whether we’ve verified your identity. You can pay people while we’re still checking, under lower limits.
| Identity verified | Still being verified | |
|---|---|---|
| Each payment | $2,500 | $250 |
| Each day | $2,500 and 50 payments | $500 and 20 payments |
| Each week | $2,500 and 200 payments | $500 and 50 payments |
| Each month | $10,000 and 500 payments | $2,000 and 150 payments |
- What counts. Payments to people, links you send to people not on Versine, scheduled payments and withdrawals to your bank all count toward the same limits. A payment that’s canceled, declined or expires gives its amount back.
- When they reset. Days start at midnight UTC (7 p.m. or 8 p.m. Eastern), weeks on Monday and months on the 1st.
2. New accounts
For the first 7 days after you sign up, you can send up to $500 in any 24 hours, withdrawals included. This applies on top of your account limits, whether or not we’ve verified your identity.
3. How often you can send
- Up to 20 payments in any hour.
- Up to 10 different people in any hour.
- Up to 10 people you’ve never paid before in any 24 hours.
- Up to 10 people in one payment, when you split a bill or pay a group at once. A group payment counts as one payment, and one person, toward the limits above.
4. Paying people who aren’t on Versine
When you pay someone who isn’t on Versine, we send them a link to claim the money.
- Up to 10 links waiting to be claimed at once, holding up to $2,000 in total.
- Each link lasts from 1 to 30 days (7 unless you choose). If no one claims it in time, the money comes back to you.
- The person claiming it confirms a code we send them. After 5 wrong tries on a code, they need to ask for a new code. After 15 tries across the link, they need a new link from you.
5. Adding money
- Apple Pay and Google Pay. Up to $500 in any 7 days, and up to 15 top-ups in total to start.
- Raising them. After your first top-up, if we’ve verified your identity, we request higher limits for you. Once that’s approved, the 15 top-up cap goes away, and your weekly limit can rise to $2,500 as your account builds history.
6. AI assistants
Payments an assistant prepares count toward all the limits above. On top of them, Versine caps what assistants can send, both for each assistant and for all your assistants together.
| Each assistant | All assistants together | |
|---|---|---|
| Any hour | 30 payments or $1,000 | 60 payments or $2,000 |
| Any 24 hours | 100 payments or $2,500 | 200 payments or $5,000 |
| Any 7 days | 300 payments or $7,500 | 600 payments or $15,000 |
These count every payment an assistant asks for, including ones you decline or that Versine refuses.
Assistants can never change your limits or ask for higher ones.
7. Higher limits
If your limits don’t fit what you need, email support@versine.com from the address on your account and tell us what you’re paying for.
